SINUS PRESSURE

SINUS PRESSURE

Sinus pressure refers to the sensation of discomfort or fullness in the facial region, often around the forehead, cheeks, and eyes. It is typically caused by inflammation or congestion of the sinus cavities, which are air-filled spaces within the skull connected to the nasal passages. Sinus pressure can result from various factors, including allergies, infections (such as sinusitis), or structural issues that impede proper drainage.

Common symptoms accompanying sinus pressure include headache, facial tenderness, congestion, and a reduced sense of smell. The pressure can also lead to toothache and discomfort in the ears. Relief measures might include over-the-counter decongestants, nasal irrigation, warm compresses, and staying hydrated. If sinus pressure persists or worsens, medical evaluation is recommended to determine the underlying cause and consider appropriate treatments, including antibiotics for infections or prescription medications for allergies and inflammation.
